As part of this series, I’m sharing the Top Three articles I’ve read over the prior week with you all every Thursday.
The articles that are featured can either be fresh or selected from other blogs’ archives. The only rule to be included in the collection is that it’s an article that I’ve read in that particular week.
Generally, I try to select pieces that made me think about something from a new perspective or that emotionally spoke to me. I hope you’ll enjoy them as much as I did!
Here are this week’s TTT:
Tanja from Our Next Life on thinking about risk
After her partner had a “close call” bike accident, Tanja reflects on how this has altered the way that they look at risk. Thankfully, Tanja and Mark had health insurance. While health insurance can be expensive, not having health insurance would have been a lot more expensive in this case. Personally, I see insurance a little bit like an asymmetric bet, similar to crypto. Having insurance is an investment that costs some money. You may never need it, in which case that investment “goes to zero”. But if you do need it and do not have it, it could cost you 10-100x as much as your initial investment would have cost you. Similarly, buying crypto costs some money. It could go to zero, but it can pay off 10-100x too. Choose wisely which risks you are and are not comfortable with!
Stop Ironing Shirts on regrets about retiring early
First of all: How awesome is this blog name? Love it. Now, let’s talk about the article: It is an answer to a reader’s asks whether the author has any regrets about retiring early. No, but early retirement did require some adjustments, reflects the author. This post has some good advice about how to prepare and work through the process both ahead of and after retiring early. The one piece of advice I love the most: Define what your ideal day / week / month looks like. It may not end up looking exactly like that, but it gives you something to work towards.
Stephen from My Wealth Money on mining crypto with a gaming PC
I saved the best for last this week! I’d be remiss if I did not include this excellent piece from Stephen on how to get started mining crypto with a gaming PC today. Unfortunately, I do not have a gaming PC. But maybe you do? Check out his free, comprehensive, beginner-friendly guide and how to start producing “magic internet money” from the comfort of your home right now!
Do YOU want to be featured? Have you written an article that I absolutely must read?
Let me know about it, and I’ll consider including it in the next TTT.
